2024 Mustang GT screen protector (1 piece) (Updated)

The guys at Anchor Room made this situation right for me... The sent me a replacement screen with an extra bottle of solution in case I needed it. Everything worked out great this time! Thanks Anchor Room!

Here is what I did to mitigate the issue I was having about the 1 piece being awkward to install.
1. I waited till it was cool enough to install. Don't let the car get warm/hot inside nor the dash screen. The heat makes the solution evaporate quickly and complicates the install.
2. Clean the screen properly with no residue left over.
3. I measured from the right-hand side of the dash screen over to 14 inches just to where it starts to curve on the bottom of the dash screen. I then did the same measurement on the film and made a straight edge cut with a razor making the film now 2 pieces.
4. Install 1 PIECE AT A TIME. Be sure to "SATURATE" both the back of the film and dash screen thoroughly so that when you place the film on the screen you can move it to make small adjustments so as to get the edges lined up properly.
5. Squeegee out the solution of the first piece and then install the second piece following the same steps.
It took me maybe 1 minute to install each piece this way. By cutting that long piece of film into 2 pieces made it soooo much more manageable that trying to install that 1 piece.
Once both pieces are installed there will be about an eighth of an inch gap between the two films. It appears that there is some shrinkage of the film when drying from the solution which makes sense to me because trying to install that 1 long piece, I couldn't get the edges to line up evenly because the solution would cause it to shrink ever so slightly. There would always be a big pocket of air in the middle because the screen is curved, and air would get trapped making the install frustrating. But with 2 pieces it was a breeze, and it looks great. That tiny gap isn't hardly noticeable, and it doesn't affect anything because it's not near the viewable area. That's what worked for me and I'm pleased with the results! Thanks again Anchor Room!

2024 Mustang GT screen protector (1 piece)

I purchased the screen protector from Anchor Room. I have a GT Premium with the 401a option, so my dash is one long screen. I just spent the last 30 minutes trying to attach the screen protector from Anchor Room. I'm sure the product works well and works as advertised, but beware it is a pain in the ass to put on especially in warm or hot weather. It comes as one long piece of film. What made it difficult for me was multiple things. The weather was in the upper 80's today with a slight breeze. I don't have a garage to put my car in, so the inside of the car was hot and the screen on the dash itself was quite hot. That makes for a bad recipe for trying to attach that screen protector. You are given a small bottle of slip spray to aid in attaching the screen protector along with a squeegee. The main problem is the screen protector itself is long and attaching it is quite cumbersome and awkward, especially when trying to get the edges to line up properly. I did as the instructions said, but when applying the slip spray to the back of the screen protector it would evaporate before I could get it properly attached. I even tried spraying it directly on the screen and the back of the protector. It didn't help much. Because it takes a moment or two to get the protector properly aligned and fitted on the screen the solution will have mostly evaporated. I ended up using the entire bottle of solution. It was a losing battle. The screen protector is just too long and awkward to apply when the weather is warm. If I had a garage and the inside of the car and dash was cooler the results, I'm sure, would have been different. But as it is, the screen protector and the small empty bottle of slip solution are in the garbage. $72 dollars wasted.

Thank you for the opportunity to make this right - please update us when you receive your replacement.

Easy Install

My son’s 2024 GT has the split screens and had matte finish screen protectors on it until the dealer prep removed them. I don’t know if they were supposed to but they took them off. YouTube had an install of these Anchor Room matte screen protectors (it was actually the bigger one piece screen) and didn’t look too difficult. The hardest part was getting the nerve to start. The kit comes with everything you need to get back to the matte screen which does an excellent job of not showing finger prints. The bare shiny glass looks good until you touch it. Be sure to thoroughly spray the glass and the screen protector so they can be easily positioned. All the liquid gets squeegeed out so put a towel under each one. I practiced on the middle screen and turned out great but rushed the main instrument cluster and didn’t spray enough of the slip they give you. It almost got ugly but finally smoothed out with some small white streaks that disappeared after a few days. I recommend this for anyone not wanting smudged screens.
